Matthew Privette just returned from a wonderful continuing education experience as he attended the
87th International Conference on Light and Vision held in St. Pete Beach, FL. This conference is held
annually by the College of Syntonic Optometry. Syntonics is the branch of ocular science dealing with
the application of selected light frequencies through the eyes to restore balance to the visual pathways.
It has been used clinically for over 70 years in the field of optometry with continued success in the
treatment of visual dysfunctions, including strabismus, amblyopia, focusing/convergence problems,
learning disorders, and the after effects of stress/trauma. The Mackowsky Visual Learning and
Rehabilitation Clinic is one of the very few clinics in North Carolina that offers Syntonic Phototherapy to
their patients.
