Dr. Mackowsky was asked to participate in the SHINE Conference held in early February, 2014. Over 150 conference attendees were present. Dr. Mackowsky reviewed the types of vision screening tests that can be performed easily with patients to detect vision dysfunctions and then extensively explained what treatment modalities are available to improve visual function.

Dr. Mackowsky was invited to attend the Hillsborough Parkinson’s Support group meeting in Hillsbourough, NC. She lectured to the members about visual symptoms commonly found with Parkinson’s patients and discussed what type of treatment options are available to improve overall function. The members were very attentive and asked great questions.

In order to complete the NORA Level 1 Fellowship Process, Dr. Mackowsky presented an article about visual dysfunctions found with Guillain-Barre Syndrome at the national meeting held in San Deigo, CA.
